Pet Shop Boys Live - Electric World Tour 2014 plus support from DJ Pedro Pet Shop Boys will play TWO special shows at Sage Gateshead as part of their spectacular 2014 “Electric” Tour. The shows also act as the first in a run of concerts and special announcements that will celebrate Sage Gateshead’s 10th Anniversary year.
The shows will feature PSB classics and also new tracks from ‘Electric’, the first Pet Shop Boys album to be produced by Stuart Price, the dance music wunderkind behind Madonna’s ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor’ and club-smashing remixes for The Killers, as well as his own Les Rhthymes Digitales project.
“They’ve been reinventing the pop concert as a modern art spectacle for decades” –The Independent
Audiences at Sage Gateshead are guaranteed world-beating spectacular live shows to go with the club-centred sound of ‘Electric’, with lighting and set design created in collaboration with award-winning creative director and designer Es Devlin (who has worked with Lady Gaga, Kanye West & Jay Z, Take That and the 2012 Olympics’ Closing Ceremony). The show features extraordinary interactive visuals, original choreography, amazing costumes, a spectacular light and laser show and – of course – lots of hits. To go with the mood of the show, the seats will be taken out of the pit area of Sage Gateshead for dancing.
“Snap, crackle and perfect pop. This glorious show confirmed Pet Shop Boys’ membership of a select club. Like Madonna, Lady Gaga and Kate Bush they are proper pop stars who understand how to fuse the mainstream with the avant garde”– The Times
