lineup and details for watergate 16 release tour: la fleur, kevin saunderson, ripperton, lee jones, alexander koning on sat 26th july 2014
Egg London is extremely pleased to be able to announce that we will be hosting a special London leg of the tour La Fleur is undertaking to celebrate the release of her Watergate mix CD. Joining her will be Lee Jones, Kevin Saunderson, Ripperton and Alexander Koning.
Watergate is the Berlin club famed for its position right by the river, for its magical LED light panels and for its well thought of and long established mix CD series, which has had the likes of Kerri Chandler, Sebo K and many others all take part.
La Fleur herself is a Swedish DJ and producer based in Berlin, is a label manager for Power Plant Records – where she mainly releases her own deep tracks - and is the resident DJ at Watergate. Her Watergate CD features two exclusive tracks from herself as well as brand new cuts from Matthias Meyer, Casino Times, Of Norway and SHOW-B. There are also some well-known staples from Laurent Garnier and Motor City Drum Ensemble and plenty of those are likely to be heard on the night too.
Someone instrumental to the development of techno over the decades is Kevin Saunderson. A member of the Belleville Three, Saunderson’s legacy is ever secured thanks to his membership of Inner City whose seminal hit ‘Good Life’ will never grow old. As well as on his own legendary techno label KMS, Saunderson releases on Planet E among many others and has recently reformed Inner City to a great reception.
Born in Switzerland, Ripperton started his career as one-half of Lazy Fat People (an artist who himself had appeared on the Wagon Repair and Planet E labels). When Ripperton decided to go solo, the style that marked those early collaborative releases stayed with him, and he became know for deep, melodic, and moody productions with a penchant for the dancefloor. He also runs the Tamed Musiq label and is a revered DJ who really takes you on a journey.
As well as Alexander Koning, Watergate favourite and Aus Music producer Lee Jones, who has a deep minimal style that is awash with plenty of creepy late night melody, completes this serious party line-up.
