Collecting records really started for Simon after his father randomly bought him a cassette of Street Sounds Electro 1 back in 1984. Songs like West Street Mob - Break Dancin Electric Boogie and Arthur Bakers – Breakers Revenge really changed it for him. It was all about the Original Funk breaks and fat drum samples.

After 25 years of searching for the perfect beat and obscure funk breaks Simon has accumulated 1000’s and 1000’s of records on his travels. Anything from Bosnian Folk Jazz to British Working Man’s Soul. “All forms of funk from all walks of life”.

In 2005 Simon released his first computer based record on Brighton based Catskills Recordsas Ch3vy. 
He’s Nu-Funk, Jazz & Hip Hop fused music can be heard on Counterpoint RecordsasDrawbar and most recently on Jack to Phono Records as Phase 5 Stereo as well as numerous remixes for artist such as The New Mastersounds, Laura Vane & The Vipertones, Boca 45 & Renegades Of Jazz.

Simon's releases have been played all over the world, on Radio 1 (Giles Peterson), BBC 6Music Craig Charles Funk & Soul & XFM and have had great support from artists such as Mr Scruff (Ninjatune), Daddy G (Massive Attack), Smoove, Dr Rubberfunk, The Nextmen, Morcheeba & Kev ʻDJ Foodʼ (Ninjatune).
