Backstreet Boys with Very Special Guest Avril Lavigne!
The Backstreet Boys announced on “Good Morning America” that they’re extending their “In a World Like This” tour with 34 new concert dates in North America with a Stop at Jones Beach on June 22. The boy band’s original lineup of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson, who are all very much men now, will be joined by special guest Avril Lavigne.
“We really wanted to put together a great show and do our best to give everyone their money’s worth,” Littrell said in a press release. “Avril is an unbelievably talented artist who’s a perfect fit to make these shows extra special for our fans.”
Since 1996, the Backstreet Boys have sold more than 130 million albums worldwide thanks to catchy hits like “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart),” “As Long As You Love Me,” “I Want It That Way” and “Larger Than Life.” The group received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last year and are nominated for best musical moment at next month’s MTV Movie Awards for their appearance in Seth Rogen’s “This Is the End.”
Lavigne, meanwhile, is still riding high on her 2013 self-titled album featuring “Here’s to Never Growing Up” and “Let Me Go,” a duet with her husband Chad Kroeger. The 29-year-old pop singer’s biggest hits include the 2002 breakout single “Complicated” and the 2007 anthem “Girlfriend.”
