Biography Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki, (born Steve Hiroyuki Aoki, November 30, 1977) also known as Kid Millionaire, is an American electro house musician, record producer and the founder of Dim Mak Records. Aoki is also a club promoter and DJ. He has also teamed up with Blake Miller of the LA-based band Moving Units to produce remixes. The duo work under the moniker, Weird Science.

Aoki founded his own label, Dim Mak Records, in 1996 which he named after his childhood hero, Bruce Lee. The label has released music by other electro house artists such as MSTRKRFT, The Bloody Beetroots, and Mustard Pimp, as well as by Klaxons, Scanners, Whitey, and Mystery Jets. 

Aoki's debut mix album, “Pillowface and His Airplane Chronicles” was released in January 2008. The mix featured tracks from Justice, Peaches, Datarock, MSTRKRFT, Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand and others, with guest vocal appearances from Santogold, Spank Rock, Uffie, Kid Sister, Pase Rock, Amanda Blank and Mickey Avalon.The album debuted at #15 on the Billboard Electronic Albums chart.

In March 2010 Aoki released “I'm In The House,” a collaboration with Zuper Blahq, the alter-ego of The Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am. The song charted at #29 on the U.K. Singles chart in its first week of release.

“Wonderland,” Aoki’s debut studio album, was issued on Dim Mak Records in January 2012. The album featured guest appearances by Rivers Cuomo, Wynter Gordon, Zuper Blahq, Polina, Lil’ Jon, Chiddy Bang, LMFAO, NERVO, Blaqstarr, My Name Is Kay, Angger Dimas, Lovefoxxx, Kid Cudi, Travis Barker, Rob Roy, Sick Boy and others.
