Christmas single from Band Aid 30 topped UK chart
Famous British and Irish artists, grouped under the name ‘Band Aid 30’, topped the UK chart with a cover of the Christmas hit "Do They Know It's Christmas?". The track became the fastest-selling in the first week in 2014. The composition was realized in the amount of 312 thousand copies.
Charity song, which was written and organized by Bob Geldof, broke the record of the previous cover: version, recorded in 2004, was sold in the first week in amount of 297,000 copies.
Duet Clean Bandit and Jesse Glyn, best known for co-hit "Rather Be", with a music novelty "Real Love" placed on second position, while Olly Murs started from the third step with a single "Wrapped Up".
Hit "Thinking Out Loud" from Ed Sheeran dropped to fourth place, and the track "Dangerous" by David Guetta and Sam Martin made his debut on the fifth line of the chart.
