Lionsgate and Stephenie Meyer (author of ‘Twighlight’) announced the creation of a joint project, which goal is to create a series of new films based on the vampire saga "Twilight".

The project is a competition, the results of which will select five women-filmmakers and their short films will be posted exclusively on Facebook in 2015. The fans will be available choose the best films!

The jury will include actresses Kristen Stewart, Kate Winslet and Octavia Spencer, the author of "Twilight" Stephenie Meyer, screenwriter of "Frozen" Catherine Hendvik, and the President of the "Women in Film" fond Cathy Schulman. They also will advise the winners while creating films. The Author of the best short film will receive a cash prize!

Project ‘The Storytellers - New Creative Voices of The Twilight Saga’ is part of a new strategy for the development of Facebook video content.

Stephenie Meyer said, that “a woman's voice in the movie is very important and this new project will give a women creativity a chance to be heard”.
