You've heard it all before, no
doubt--DJ So-and-So is the best in his city, the
man, the most talented, the biggest, the illest, the craziest. But
while everybody is out there talking a good game, DJ
Presto One is simply showing and proving. For a decade and
a half, he's been putting in work in the Vegas scene and around the
world, rocking shows from his home turf of Vegas to Europe and
Japan with his unique skills and musical presentation. His talents
have led to working with artists like The Roots,
Q-Bert, Jazzy Jeff,
Funkmaster Flex, and the Beat
Junkies as well as spinning parties for celebs like
Britney Spears, Roasrio Dawson,
and TJ Lavin.
Don't get it twisted, though: It's not all about the glitz and
glamour. Presto is firmly rooted in hip-hop, as his proud
membership in the legendary and world-famous Rock Steady Crew can
attest, and his turntablist abilities landed him a spot in Q-Bert's
Scratchlopedia DVD. But it's Presto's knack for taking that hip-hop
sensibility and presenting it to all kinds of different crowds that
makes him stand out.
The Vegas club scene is a competitive one, but Presto has made
himself a fixture in it, rocking clubs like Pure, Tao, Studio 54,
Jet, Vanity, and Body English inside the Hard Rock Hotel and
Casino. His latest venture, a collaboration with drummer Dustin J
called 51Fifty, has garnered plenty of critical acclaim in just a
few months.
