Maria Rita is one of the most successful and respected singers to emerge on the Brazilian music scene in the last decade. Her four studio albums (Maria Rita -2003, Segundo -2005, Samba Meu -2007 and Elo -2011) have sold more than 2.5 million copies in Brazil alone and she has won 6 Latin Grammys including Best New Artist of the Year in 2004. She has also won many prestigious awards in Brazil with her music and various recognitions in Mexico and Portugal.

Touring Brazil for more than a decade, Maria Rita has also performed in most important Music Festivals in Europe, including the Montreux Jazz Festival where in 2011 she was introduced on stage by Quincy Jones. She has toured the United States, Argentina, Uruguay, Angola, Japan, Portugal, France, Spain, Germany, Holland, England, among others in more than 80 international performances. Her albums have been released in over 30 countries all over the world including the United States, Mexico, Great Britain, Canada, Germany, France, Argentina, Chile, Italy and Portugal.

Currently recording her new album to be released in Brazil in mid-March, 2014, Maria Rita brings to this US 2014 Tour one of her most acclaimed performances: the show Piano & Voice with her and pianista Tiago Costa on stage.
