This video is one of 6 (selected from almost 500 entries by Moby and Genero.tv) that has made it onto the shortlist for the Wait For Me Video Competition.
From the director:
"First of all, I still can't believe that our video is a finalist. Really? Are you sure Moby/Genero?
I remember convincing a few dear friends to help me simply because I was hoping to win some money to purchase a new computer for work. Also, I've never really told a story from personal experience before, so I thought anything developed from within would make for great fodder. So, with their help, I decided to visually flesh out some past demons since we can all relate somewhat. In the beginning, as much as I tried, a written script for this never happened. What I did end up with were a few rough sketches in my journal. Maybe that's how we revisit the moments we care to forget, in disjointed chunks rather than a queue of perfectly kerned verbage.
Also, being perpetually guilty of complicating anything, I needed to restrain myself. For "Wait For Me", it would all be simple. For example, a DSLR was used because I had sold my video camera two weeks prior. Also, having recently moved, my landlord was kind enough to let us come back for a day to a near empty apartment. Finally, the entire physical route of the character from sidewalk saint to motel junkie is my nightly jog around the old neighborhood. From all of that, we captured four thousand plus images that eventually was whittled down to what you see now. But, it's incredible that you're even reading this. I'm hoping our piece was a finalist because maybe it home a tad. That maybe our story was bit of your story too."
