Author of epic fantasy novels’ cycle "A Song of Ice and Fire" George R.R. Martin before upcoming premiere of the 4th season of TV series "Game of Thrones" based on his works, made ​​a great gift for fans.

 According to the magazine The Hollywood Reporter, the writer posted on his personal blog a new chapter of the sixth novel, "The Winds of Winter", which is called "Mercy".

Martin said, that his new chapter is really old. But no, he did not publish it before anywhere. Old it's in that sense that was written a long time ago, and the author rewrote it probably a dozen times.

The writer also noted that an earlier chapter "Arianne", which he laid out in a blog a few months ago, will be withdrawn from the novel.
