JJ Abrams will shoot series based on Stephen King novel
Production company of director J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot and online channel Hulu signed an agreement for the production of 9series TV project based on the novel written by Stephen Edwin King "11/22/63".
The plot of the film will be built around American school teacher who is traveling back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
The series is planned only for one season, but Hulu said they are not against the extension of the film for few more seasons in which the plot spun around other historical events. The cast of the series and release date has not been announced.
Bad Robot acquired the rights for adaptation the novel in April 2013, soon after it was published in 2011, and immediately became a bestseller. Screenplay adaptation of the novel was produced by Bridget Carpenter.
J.J. Abrams told, that he have been a fan of Stephen King since childhood. And he is very excited about the opportunity to work with a famous writer! The more, that the story of the film is really interesting, emotional and rich of bright images.
King himself said about the prospect of cooperation with Abrams, that of all his books "11/22/63" is more fit the serials format.
