Sigourney Weaver got a new role in sequels of "Avatar"

Director James Cameron confirmed that the actress Sigourney Weaver will star in all three sequels of fantastic film "Avatar", but in a new role.

Weaver’s heroine, Dr. Grace Augustine, died in the first part of the movie…and Cameron does not want to "resurrect" her in the sequel. According to the director, the role of Weaver in the second film will be more difficult than the first.

Cameron did not specify in whom will be reincarnated the actress. Till "Avatar" Weaver has starred in Cameron's movie "Aliens" in 1985. James said, that he and Sigourney have a long creative history, and they are good friends who have always worked very well together, so it's great that she returned to the project.

Also it is already known, that actors, who were playing the main roles in the first film, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Joel Moore will shoot in the sequel.

In August 2013, Cameron said that he plans to release three sequels of "Avatar", which will appear on the screen, respectively, in December 2016, 2017 and 2018. Budget of all the pictures will be 412 million dollars, and the shooting will take place in New Zealand, as well as the shooting of the first film. Production will take the film company 20th Century Fox and Lightstorm Entertainment.
