James Cameron and Cirque du Soleil announced joint project - show "Avatar"

This statement was made a director and president of the Canadian circus Cirque du Soleil - Daniel Lamarre at the Montreal conference - C2MTL-Commerce and Creativity.

Financing opportunities will take the right holder of "Avatar", a film studio Twentieth Century Fox, and the production company Lightstorm Entertainment. Worldwide release of the new show will begin in late 2015, before the premiere of "Avatar" sequel.

Cameron by himself reported that during many years he have watched the extraordinary talent and imagination of artists and the creative team of Cirque du Soleil. He and the circus have a common goal - to give the public a new level of fun. So, James is looking forward to working on the project.

Circus version of "Avatar" will not be the first joint project of the American director and Cirque du Soleil. In 2012, Cameron became the producer of the documentary film 3D- “Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away” and even participated in the filming as an operator.

James Cameron's "Avatar" became the highest grossing film in the history of cinema. It grossed $ 2.8 billion. Previous record belonged to the film "Titanic", which also was shoot by James Cameron.

It is planned 3 sequels of the "Avatar", the first one is scheduled to be released in December 2016.
