Back To Mine: Deeper Purpose

As we know “Back to mine” – is a series of mix albums that based on the favourite tracks, usually mixed by DJs or composers of electronic music.

This time Deeper Purpose – true lover of house and trance told us about his preferences in music…

Claude Von Stroke – ‘Who's Afraid Of Detroit’ (MunniBrotherz Rework)

Deeper Purpose: This song struck me and I fell in love with it from the first time I heard it 2 years ago, still now - I include this in my sets and has the same uplifting effect it did back when it was released if not slightly more now seeing as you do not hear it as often.

Biatlone & Going Deeper – ‘Fascinated’ (Demarzo Remix)

DP: This song for me does all the talking for itself with, its deep groove and deep baseline. Never failing to create an almost trance like state on the dance floor.

Joel Alter – ‘I Feel You’

DP: This song takes a sample from the classic song by Nina Simone - Feeling good and manages to still keep the cool calmness of the original track but putting a house twist on it. A song that never fails to lift everyones spirit in the early hours.

Midland – ‘Trace’

DP: I first heard this track in an early morning party and the atmosphere had faded and from the start of this song it instantly changed the mood and set the tone for what direction the party was heading in and I liked it a lot ‘!

Matt Fear – ‘Groove With It’

DP: Matt is a producer who is work I personally love and this is one of my favourites with its hard kicks on the drop and as it says in the title a baseline to which you can ‘Groove With it’

Dale Howard – ‘Police Brutality’ (Dale Howards Brutal Mix)

DP: Dale's sound and music is spreading very fast and gaining great recognition and support from some very well respected people within the industry and that is no surprise after seeing the damage his songs do to the dance floor with exciting drops that instantly create an atmosphere and kick the party into life.

James Silk – ‘Side 2 Side’

DP: This song instantly put a smile on my face when I first heard it. The catchy vocal, flowing drops and arrangement is perfect. Another song that can instantly change the atmosphere of any dance floor from the first drop.

Justin Martin – ‘Wheelgunner’ (Dub)

DP: A song from the infamous label Dirtybird Records, which is owned by Claude Von Stroke. Which never fails to release a bad song in my eyes. This track in particular showcases what there label is about, songs that are fun and different, all you need to do is listen to the build up and drop to see what I mean.

German Brigante – ‘Games’

DP: Without a doubt this song is in my top 5 most played songs of 2013 and I will continue to play it throughout 2014. Taking a sample from the film batman and using it in such a way to create an eerie atmosphere before an incredible drop.

Samu.L – ‘What Is What’

DP: This song has yet to be re-leased but managed to get hold of a copy. Samu.l has taken the accapella from Fatboy Slims – Star 69 and put a new twist on it. The combination is a killer and always gets a great response.

I hope you enjoy listening to my selection of tracks above. I sure do love playing them and whether you plan to play them out or just dance to them enjoy and share. Keep an eye out for the Deep Intentions parties that I run at Egg London on a monthly basis where you can come and see myself play and some of my team, keep up to date with everything on the Deep Intentions events Facebook page...
