Lena Burke

Lena Latin Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and pianist from Cuba.  She is also known as Lena Burke, due to her musical legacy (granddaughter and daughter of Elena and Malena Burke,  two myths of the Cuban song).

Her name has always been part of an important circle of musicians and artists, first due to her unique musical heritage and professional studies, and then as a studio-background vocalist to major musical productions of top Latin singers as: Plácido Domingo, Chayanne, Alejandro Sanz, Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan, Julio Iglesias, etc. In the meantime, always writing and composing a myriad of songs, which later on takes her to the next chapter in her career- a solo artist working on her first musical production

Nominated several times to the prestigious LATIN GRAMMY  Awards, and winner of one in 2011 under the category “Best Pop Vocal Album Duo or Group”,  for the musical production: “Alex, Jorge y Lena” (Alex Ubago and Jorge Villamizar (Bacilos).
She has received other important nominations, honors and accolades throughout her musical and  acting career.
Alejandro Sanz was the linkage for making her first album become a reality under Warner Music Latino. After meeting her in Miami while recording the vocals of his production “No es lo mismo”, he recorded with her “ Tu corazón”, the first hit single of her self-written album.
Her distinctive performance and singing style, got her the leading role in the movie “La Mala”, a film dedicated to the memory of the internationally renowned Cuban artist, La Lupe.

Lena received international honors for her performance, including the acclaimed award

“Maltese Falcon”, the Audience Award for Best Actress at the International Film Festival of Ibiza, and “Best Female Performer Award”, at the XXIX Mostra of Valencia, Spain 2008. She co-produced the movie soundtrack, which includes many of the songs made famous by the singer, with her father the famed music producer Rey Nerio. The production also includes two beautiful romantic ballads of her inspiration.
