MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR (TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES) FEATURING ELLIS CLARK & HIS BAND

Ellis Clark has been a longtime fixture of the Chicago music community working as a performing musician, singer-songwriter, recording artist and record producer. He was a founding member and front man for the band Epicycle and later Social Act which in combination have released numerous albums of original material.

Clark recently released his debut solo album “LP NUMBER ONE” on the CAUDog Record Label as a red vinyl LP. It’s also out on CD (and even 8-TRACK TAPE). Clark’s wide range of producer/engineering/session player credits include working on records with Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), American Idol Star Crystal Bowersox, 90’s indie pop favorite The Chamber Strings, co-producer of all Kevin Tihista & Red Terror’s albums released on Atlantic Records and Broken Horse, John Ashton from The Psychedelic Furs, The Handcuffs (who‘s songs have been featured on many nationally syndicated TV shows aired on MTV, PBS, A&E, VH1, NBC and ABC), and produced the late Nikki Sudden’s “Red Brocade” album (with Jeff Tweedy of Wilco).

Recognized for his songwriting skills, Clark was signed to Paramount Picture’s publishing division Famous Music. He co-founded Cirkle Records & Idiot Savant Records and is currently Producer for all albums released on the CAUDog Records label. He is now proud to be part of Chicago Acoustic Underground, an organization that has a shared dedication to the development of new artists. In his career, he has shared the bill with Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Blondie, Dave Davies (The Kinks), Glenn Tilbrook (Squeeze), UB40, The Neville Brothers, Evan Dando from The Lemonheads, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and SNL star Chris Farley to name a few.

Saturday February 8th at the beautiful Mayne Stage Theatre promises to be a magical night of music. Ellis Clark and Phil Angotti each perform a set of their original songs and then join forces to become The Magical Mystery Tour Orchestra performing some of The Beatles most well-loved tunes. They will be supported by a band made up of some of Chicago's top talent. Not to be missed!

Phil Angotti has become a household name in the power-pop musical world, especially in his hometown Chicago where he's been performing for 20 years now. He has performed as a solo act through-out his career, and with several bands, most notably the Fleas, the Scuffle, the Beatle Brothers, Not the Beatles (with Brad & Graham Elvis) and his long-time original group, the Idea.

He has released 10 different albums over the years, been on several CD compilations and tributes, and has made numerous radio appearances as a solo artist, Beatle Brother and leader of the Idea. Known for his strong lead vocals and versatile harmony singing, he is also an innovative guitarist (acoustic and electric). His style is diverse mixture of British 60's power pop, American folk rock, and modern guitar pop, played mostly with an explosive energy and sensibility. As a songwriter - he has proven again and again he can write melodies and hooks with the best of them and his penned numerous original songs (108 recorded to date).

Most recently, Phil and the Idea have released the new 15 song album "Flower Bomb", (on Jam Records -great power-pop label he has just signed on to) that is right now getting not only college radio play but has been on WXRT radio, both on Richard Milne's Local Anesthetic and the day time slot "Time Capsule".

Phil and the band will be appearing at the International Pop Overthrow Fest in New York City December 11th at the famous Knitting Factory. They've been at the LA IPO every year since 1998 and will be a featured act at the IPO coming to Chicago this spring.

You can catch Phil doing solo acoustic shows, Idea shows and of course appearing with the famous Beatle Brothers almost every weekend.
