Event description

ALABAMA 3 + BOSS CAINE

First in York – and at Fibbers of course – in November 2002, welcome back to the legendary Brixtonian collective whose "Sopranos" theme "Woke Up This Morning" and unbridled delinquency has won them fans from Stockwell to the South Bronx for their mischievous misappropriation of Hank Williams, gospel and acid house.

Oh yes, lawdy lawdy, brothers and sisters let the heaven’s be praised OH MY, for ALABAMA 3 are one of the most joyous, righteous, provocative and inspirationally delinquent bands Britain has ever spawned.

Pure miscreant, theo-pharmalogical, neo-situationist, holy music junkies floating high in the anaemic river of mass entertainment, who could believe they would be guiding a 26 piece gospel choir through 'Woke Up This Morning' on The Jay Leno Show.

You may have caught some of them acting in Notting Hill Carnival film SW9, or heard 'Too Sick To Pray' in 'Gone In Sixty Seconds' (Nicholas Cage). Even Nashville icon Billy Joe Spears is in on their acid-country cowboy insurrection, covering their 'U Don't Dance 2 Tekno'.

Still the best live band in the country. Yup, The Reverend D Wayne Love is coming to town.

Swinging like the devil’s own dick … On your knees!!
