lineup and details for the sunshine underground on fri 23rd may 2014

The Sunshine Underground are bringing their subterranean light to Glasgows Classic Grand on the 23rd of May, Jamaica street. They hail from Leeds and this indie rock band fuse punk, indie and electronic music to bring us a sharp, crisp sound that has seen them championed by Radio 1’s Zane Low and the NME. They have played headline sell out tours with the Happy Mondays and LCD Soundsystem and taken part in essential British festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds not to mention Scotlands own T in the Park.

Their sound led them to being one of the original acts to be dubbed ‘nu-rave’alongside the likes of the Klaxons, who they toured with on the NME New Rave UK tour.

They have so far released two full studio albums, “Raise The Alarm”and “Nobody’s Coming To Save You”, have played as far afield as Mexico, China and Austria. And their 3rd is due for release early this year with PledgeMusic.

They are becoming what they should be, electro-rock behemoths with wide eyed, psychedelic grins. The cowbell has never been used, nor abused in such a fashion.

In support they have the 2012 SAMA winners for Best Acoustic Act, Brown Bear & The Bandits, Glasgows own Mickey 9’s, these guys have to be seen/heard to be believed, if at all possible understood and also Crash Club.

This night is going to be an experience, take you on a journey to the outer realms of your mind and gently bring you back home, kiss you softly on the cheek and wave you off into the Glasgow darkness of night.
