Newton Faulkner, born Sam Newton Battenburg Faulkner, came storming out of the gate with his first album, Hand Built by Robots, which went double platinum in his native England when it was released in 2007. A songwriter and musician from Surrey, his musical influences run the gamut, from Tom Waits to Pearl Jam with a lot in-between. He has released four albums and is noted for innovative recording practices that allow his fans to see the process of creating a record.

After the success of Newton Faulkner's debut album, he releasedRebuilt by Humans in 2009. He performed at several UK festivals, including the Glastonbury Festival in 2010 and the Crossing Boarder Festival in the Netherlands. In 2012 he released his third album, Write it On Your Skin, which hit the number one spot on the UK Albums Chart.

In 2013 Newton began work on his Studio Zoo, his fourth album. He made history by providing a 24/7 live feed which showed the album's creation. He had set up his home studio with a number of cameras to follow his every move while creating the album. He also provided numerous updates on social media sites. The album was released in August of 2013 and debuted on the UK Albums Chart in the tenth spot.
