Frank Sivero sued the Fox Television Studios for his image in ‘The Simpsons’

Frank Sivero, famous American actor and gangster from the movies "The Godfather 2" and "Goodfellas", sued the Fox Television Studios, accusing the creators of the TV series "The Simpsons" in using one of his on-screen images - Frankie Carbone . Scrip claim is $ 250 million.

In a statement, Sivero told that in 1989 he lived in an apartment complex in Sherman Oaks California, and the screenwriters of "The Simpsons" lived right next door in the same complex. They knew that the actor was working on the character of Frankie Carbone (who has inherited many features of Sivero), whom he played in "Goodfellas".

"The Simpsons" were launched on Fox in 1989, and soon, more precisely, in the fourth episode of the third season among inhabitants of Springfield appeared mobster named Louis. Since Louis "starred" in fifteen series, the most recent of his appearance took place in the episode "What to Expect When Bart`s Expecting" April 27, 2014.

The lawsuit states: Appearance and manners of Louis evoke the image of the character of Frank Sivero. And there are too many features similar to Sivero, and the actor is confident that his rights under the laws of California, have been violated. Besides, Frank Sivero believes that producer of the series, James L. Brooks has not fulfilled the promise to involve the actor in the shooting of a feature film about the Simpsons. Such talk, according to Sivero, took place in 1996.

Frank Sivero in real life sometimes resembles his onscreen characters - earlier this year he was arrested for possession of weapons. Several months ago, the actor sued the owners of a restaurant called sandwich with a name of his character from "Goodfellas".
