The Hollywood Reporter informes, that Studio Sony Pictures jointly with Mattel, Parkes and MacDonald Imagenation intends to shoot a feature film, in which the main role will belong to Barbie doll.

Star of the shooting is expected in late 2014. In case of success of the first series, Sony studio expects to create a new franchise.

Recall that firstly famous doll was introduced to consumers in 1959 and since that time become one of the most popular toys in the world. During her long life Barbie took different images, but this time filmmakers are going to show viewers some of her transformations.

Early Barbie has appeared in a variety of animation projects, but shooting in a feature film would be for her first debut in a movie.
